We process enquiry and booking data to respond to requests and perform charter contracts (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), to comply with legal and tax obligations such as invoicing (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR), and, where you have given consent, to send you marketing communications or set non-essential cookies (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We rely on legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for basic website security logging and fraud prevention.

4. Retention

Enquiry data not converted into a booking is deleted after 24 months. Contractual and invoicing records are retained for the statutory period applicable in our jurisdiction, generally 6–10 years.

5. Sharing with third parties

We share data with payment processors, our booking/reservation software provider, and, for skippered charters, the assigned skipper, solely to the extent necessary to deliver the service. We do not sell personal data to third parties.

6. International transfers

Where a service provider is located outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision to safeguard your data.

1. Scope

These Terms & Conditions govern all charter bookings, bareboat rentals, and brokerage services offered by [COMPANY_LEGAL_NAME] ("Meridian", "we", "us") through this website.

2. Booking & Payment

A booking is confirmed upon receipt of a 30% non-refundable deposit; the remaining balance is due 30 days before charter start. For bookings made within 30 days of departure, full payment is due at the time of booking. A refundable security deposit, held via pre-authorisation, is required before yacht handover and released within 7 days of return, subject to damage inspection.

3. Skipper & Crew

Skippered charters include a licensed skipper; bareboat charters require at least one guest to hold a valid sailing qualification recognised in Spain (e.g. ICC, RYA Day Skipper or higher) and relevant VHF radio certification, to be verified before departure.

4. Guest Conduct & Safety

Guests must follow the skipper's safety instructions at all times; the skipper has final authority over the vessel's operation, including the right to alter or cancel a route for safety or weather reasons without compensation owed beyond the value of unused charter days.

5. Fuel, Marina Fees & Provisioning

Fuel and marina/berthing fees outside the home marina are charged at cost based on actual consumption, unless an all-inclusive package was purchased. Provisioning items added through the website cart are charged separately and delivered to the yacht before departure.

6. Liability

[COMPANY_LEGAL_NAME] maintains third-party liability insurance as described in our Why Meridian section. Our liability for indirect or consequential loss is excluded to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law; nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

7. Brokerage Services

Yacht sales facilitated through our brokerage desk are subject to a separate brokerage agreement, survey terms, and applicable VAT/import documentation requirements specific to the vessel and buyer's flag state.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Consumers resident in the EU retain the protections of the mandatory consumer-protection laws of their country of residence.

1. Statutory 14-Day Withdrawal Right

If you are a consumer booking from within the EU, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase of goods (e.g. merchandise or provisioning items ordered without an immediate service date) within 14 days without giving any reason, in accordance with Directive 2011/83/EU. This withdrawal right does not apply to charter bookings for a specific date, which are services with a defined performance date under Art. 16(l) of the Directive; the cancellation terms in Section 2 below apply instead.

2. Charter Booking Cancellations

• More than 60 days before departure: full refund minus the 30% deposit.
• 30–59 days before departure: 50% of the total charter fee is refunded.
• Less than 30 days before departure: no refund, except where required by statutory consumer law.
• Free date change is available up to 7 days before departure, subject to availability.

3. Cancellations by Meridian

If we cancel a charter due to vessel unavailability, mechanical failure, or safety/weather conditions, guests receive a full refund or, where preferred, rebooking on an equivalent yacht at no extra cost.

4. Provisioning & Merchandise Returns

Unopened provisioning and merchandise items ordered via the website cart may be returned within 14 days of delivery for a full refund, excluding perishable goods, which cannot be returned once delivered to the yacht.
